Netflix is set to expand its programming roster by bringing a new iteration of the popular YouTube series, "Hot Ones," to its platform.

The streamer has ordered "Hot Ones: Extra Heat," a spinoff that will feature host Sean Evans engaging celebrity guests in interviews while they consume progressively spicier chicken wings.

This move marks Netflix's continued interest in adapting successful digital content for its audience.

The original "Hot Ones" show, which has aired over 400 episodes since its 2015 debut, will continue to be available on YouTube, alongside its other spinoffs, "Hot Ones Versus" and "Hot Ones Wing Pong." All series in the franchise are produced by First We Feast.

"Hot Ones: Extra Heat" is planned as a series of specials that will stream from the locations of Netflix live events.

The inaugural episode is scheduled to premiere on July 13, immediately following baseball’s Home Run Derby.

The first guests confirmed for the new series are Will Ferrell, Fortune Feimster, and Jimmy Tatro, who are all stars of Netflix’s upcoming comedy series, "The Hawk."

Sean Evans expressed his enthusiasm for the new venture, stating, "As a student of the late-night genre, I’m obsessed with the art of the interview and believe that these conversations warrant a level of scale and spectacle that sometimes can’t be contained by a studio." He added that he is excited to partner with Netflix to "continue to break new ground with the format, while keeping the core of what fans love about Hot Ones firmly intact."

Chris Schonberger, co-creator of "Hot Ones" and CEO of First We Feast, also commented on the collaboration, highlighting First We Feast's "decade-plus track record of delivering fresh interview formats and break-through moments with celebrities." He noted the thrill of pushing boundaries with Netflix and bringing the "power of Hot Ones to some of the biggest, most culturally impactful moments on the service."
