Netflix's Live-Action 'Scooby-Doo: Origins' Series Announces Full Cast
Netflix's upcoming live-action series, "Scooby-Doo: Origins," has unveiled its complete main cast as production gets underway.
The series, which is currently filming in Atlanta, is slated for a 2027 premiere, marking a significant return for the beloved franchise in a new format.
The core members of the iconic Mystery Inc.
gang have been previously announced: Maxwell Jenkins will star as Fred Jones, Tanner Hagen as Norville “Shaggy” Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley, and Mckenna Grace as Daphne Blake.
Paul Walter Hauser is also confirmed for an undisclosed role.
Further expanding the ensemble, a host of new cast members have been revealed.
These include Rusty Schwimmer, known for “The Pitt” and “Righteous Gemstones,” and Peter Macon, who appeared in “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” and “The Orville.” Maxwell Simkins, Jona Xiao, Dani Deetté, Elysée Sanvillé, Alex Isles, Avery Kristen Pohl, Pamela Mitchell, Ross Kimball, Sara Gilbert, Wynn Everett, Sauriyan Sapkota, Bruce McGill, and Sherilyn Fenn are also joining the series.

"Scooby-Doo: Origins" is described as a modern reimagining of the classic cartoon.
The official logline provides insight into the plot: "During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy (Hagen) and Daphne (Grace) get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder." The story continues as they team up with "the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma (Fortson), and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy (Jenkins)," to solve a case that threatens to expose their secrets.
Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg are serving as writers and showrunners, also executive producing alongside André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, and Adrienne Erickson under their Midnight Radio banner.
Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Leigh London Redman are executive producing via Berlanti Productions, with Toby Haynes set to executive produce and direct the first episode.
