Actor Kirk Cameron, best known for his role as Mike Seaver in the classic sitcom "Growing Pains," has publicly explained his decision to leave California for Tennessee.

Speaking on the "Adam Carolla Podcast," Cameron attributed his departure to what he described as California's "terrible politics" and other factors that he believes make it challenging to raise a family in the state.

This move by a prominent figure highlights a growing trend of individuals re-evaluating their living situations based on political and lifestyle considerations.

Cameron reflected on his childhood in California, noting that it was enjoyable when his parents covered expenses, allowing him to experience the state's recreational offerings.

However, he stated that his own children, upon becoming independent, recognized the high cost of living and the political climate as obstacles.

This realization, according to Cameron, led to the family's decision to seek a new environment where they could "thrive and maybe even just survive."

Despite his criticisms, Cameron expressed a desire to return to California in the future, acknowledging that the state has "so much to offer." He also shared positive remarks about his new home in Nashville, Tennessee, highlighting its vibrant community of creatives who, he says, share good values, love their families, and are proud of their country.

He also humorously mentioned the quality of whiskey and hot chicken available in Nashville.

Cameron starred in all seven seasons of "Growing Pains," which aired for 167 episodes on ABC, solidifying his place in television history.
