A Connecticut man, Paul Kueker, 51, died after falling from a balcony during a Goose concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City over the weekend.

The incident occurred on Saturday night, with Kueker reportedly falling from the 300s section and landing on other concertgoers below.

Witnesses informed authorities that Kueker appeared to be "intoxicated" and "under the influence" before he went over the 4-foot glass barrier shortly before 10 p.m., according to law-enforcement sources cited by the New York Post.

Kueker was unconscious and unresponsive after the fall and was subsequently rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Several individuals he landed on sustained minor injuries.

Kueker was attending the concert with his wife to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.

His wife was reportedly in a different section at the time and was unaware of what had happened to her husband, believing he had gone to the bathroom, until she was informed by authorities.

The New York City medical examiner’s office stated on Monday that the cause of Kueker’s death is under investigation, with a toxicology report being conducted as part of the probe.

Madison Square Garden released a statement expressing deep sadness over the loss of a fan's life and extended condolences to the family and friends of the concertgoer, while awaiting the police report.

The band Goose also issued a statement, conveying their heartbreak and sympathy to everyone affected, and thanked emergency personnel and venue staff for their assistance.

According to a GoFundMe page set up by his daughter, Kueker was described as "a loving father, family man, and friend whose presence brought warmth and laughter wherever he went." The fundraiser noted his love for spending time with family, cooking, and enjoying live music, and mentioned the family's struggle to cope with the sudden loss and associated expenses.
